This painting 'In the darkness of the night' is the first one of a series 'Night and Day'. The deep dark colors refer to the night and invoke a feeling of tranquility, calmness and silence.
There are many layers of transparent and opaque paint in which I scratched and altered with all kinds of tools. This gives the work a lot of depth and visual texture.
