Burgundy, ochre, green and magenta gather within an energetic network of painted and drawn gestures. A dark horizontal interruption anchors the central movement, while pale passages resist the surrounding density. The painting preserves the urgency of its making while allowing an underlying rhythm to hold its many fragments together.
Created as part of my ongoing studio practice, this independent artwork reflects a process of layering, revision and decision-making in which each gesture responds to what came before.
