Created as part of my ongoing studio practice, this work is an independent artwork that reflects the same process of layering, revision and decision-making that informs my larger paintings.
This painting developed through successive layers of addition, removal and revision, allowing the composition to emerge gradually rather than from a predetermined image. Fragments of colour, texture and gesture come together in a shifting structure that balances density with openness. Rather than resolving into a fixed form, the work remains attentive to the subtle relationships between its parts, holding tension and coherence in equal measure.
