Created as part of my ongoing exploration of painting, this small painting on paper is an independent artwork that captures a distinct moment in the process of discovery.
Light washes, restrained colour and a few decisive gestures create an open composition that rewards sustained looking. Rather than describing a place, the painting suggests one through rhythm, balance and atmosphere.
