A dark, textured concentration emerges in the upper part of the painting before giving way to an expansive field of pale, layered marks. Ochre, pink, blue and burgundy fragments remain partially visible beneath successive acts of covering and revision. The open interval between the denser passages becomes an active presence, holding traces of what has been changed but not entirely removed.

Created as part of my ongoing studio practice, this independent artwork reflects a process of layering, revision and decision-making in which each gesture responds to what came before.
