Dark blue-black passages and fragmented linear marks meet a concentrated field of rust, ochre and deep red. Between them, a shifting expanse of pale violet-grey interrupts the density, creating a temporary balance between opposing forces.
Built through repeated layering, covering and reopening, Unstable Accord retains evidence of its revisions. Colours and gestures remain compressed within the composition while broken edges and exposed traces prevent the structure from becoming fixed.
Created as part of my ongoing studio practice, this independent artwork reflects a process of layering, revision and decision-making in which each gesture responds to what came before.
