Light washes, restrained colour and a few decisive gestures create an open composition that rewards sustained looking. Rather than describing a place, the painting suggests one through rhythm, balance and atmosphere.

Created as part of my ongoing studio practice, this independent artwork reflects a process of layering, revision and decision-making in which each gesture responds to what came before.
